Three victories in four outings cemented success for the Coopers Racing team at the inaugural Bahrain GT Festival, with David Brabham and Allan Simonsen closing out two days of exciting competition with a comfortable win in the two-driver final.
This one sounded the goods as it idled in the door, although it disappointed when it hit the rollers and was terrible to drive on the road.
THE most incredible of Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour races has been emotionally won by Craig Lowndes, Peter Edwards, John Bowe and Mika Salo, driving a Ferrari 458 GT3.
The Ferrari-driving quartet won today’s race by just 0.4 seconds in a thrilling finish between Lowndes and HTP Motorsport Mercedes Benz driver Maximilian Buhk in front of a big crowd and a massive live TV and online audience watching the drama unfold.
I know it says "Motorsport is dangerous" on the back of every ticket I've been handed over the years but I'm deeply shocked and saddened at the news of Allan's passing last night. He was the most inspirational and rewarding driver I've everworked with and I feel very privileged to have worked with him for all of these years. He was also a good mate with an easy smile and a quick wit.
My thoughts are with Carina, Mie mai, Benny and the rest of his family on this terrible day.
